Personal branding for agents: be the face your area knows

People work with an agent they recognise. Here's how to build a personal brand on video: an about-me video, consistency, local expertise and SOLD videos that say thank you.

Why you?

When a homeowner decides to sell, they pick up their phone and ask one question: who do I call? If your name comes to mind first, you've won before the competition even starts. If no name comes to mind, they'll search online, ask in the neighbourhood group, or call the big office whose sign hangs on the street.

Personal branding is the answer to that question. It isn't a logo or a business card. It's the impression people in your area are left with after seeing you again and again: who you are, what you know and why you can be trusted. These days, that impression is built mostly through video.

Step one: an about-me video that says who you are

Every personal brand starts with an about-me video. In Nadlaniko you fill in a short questionnaire: your area of expertise, the cities and neighbourhoods you cover, the property types you handle, your years in the business, the languages you speak and why clients should choose you. Add your photo and up to eight photos of listings you've marketed, and you get a finished self-promo video.

The narration can be your own recording, your cloned voice or a narrator. The video comes in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, so you can pin it to your Instagram profile, put it on your Facebook page, your YouTube channel and LinkedIn, and send it on WhatsApp to every owner who contacts you for the first time.

  • Be specific: neighbourhoods and streets, not just a city
  • Say what you're especially good at: garden flats, families, investors
  • Say honestly why people should choose you, in your own words
  • End with a clear invitation to get in touch

Consistency: the secret nobody likes to hear

One great video doesn't build a brand. Steady presence does. When people in your area see you every week, with the same style, the same colours and the same voice, they recognise you before they've read your name. An agent who posts once every two months is forgotten in between.

The good news is you don't need to make something from scratch every week. Nadlaniko's posting calendar lets you schedule videos ahead for every network, and Autopilot suggests a good posting time for each connected one. You approve, and the content goes out on time, even in your busiest weeks. Pick one or two designs and stick with them, so every video looks like part of the same family.

Local expertise: not just homes, the neighbourhood

Buyers and sellers want someone who knows the area inside out: where the schools are, which street is quiet, what's being built nearby. Every listing reel is a chance to show that. Put a line in the script about the neighbourhood, the park around the corner or the walk to the station. You can read and edit the script before you approve it.

Another way is a podcast. Nadlaniko can make a podcast-style episode where you answer questions about the market, the area or tips for buyers and sellers, plus short clips for reels. A few of those clips a month present you as the expert, not just someone posting listings.

And you get an agent page that gathers all your listings. Anyone who saw one reel and clicks through sees you're active in the area, with several homes on the go.

SOLD videos: say thank you out loud

A closed deal is the best branding moment you have. A SOLD video, or RENTED for a lease, celebrates the closing over the home's photos, thanks the clients and ends with a message for the next owner: want to sell yours too? Nadlaniko has four designs for it, and it goes straight into your posting calendar.

Ask your clients for permission before posting, and decide together whether to show the price or the days on market. Most clients are glad to be thanked in public, and some share the video themselves. That reaches their friends and neighbours, who are exactly your audience.

Becoming the agent your neighbourhood knows

The goal is simple: when someone in the neighbourhood says "we need an agent", somebody else answers with your name. That happens when your about-me video is pinned to every profile, your reels go out steadily, your content shows you know every street and every closing becomes a thank-you video.

Start with the about-me video, keep a steady reel for every listing, and add a SOLD video after every closing. After a few months of consistency, you're not just another agent. You're the neighbourhood's agent.
